11 Big East squads in the tourney?
Bogus. Although I agree the Big East is probably the deepest conference in the country currently (mostly due to the fact that they have 16 teams), but 11 teams dancing is ridiculous. We could talk about Marquette, Georgetown, and West Virginia but its just too easy to present an argument against Villanova. Despite a solid start, nova has dropped 7 of its last 9 games including an active 5 game losing streak. Big East bros will argue that "its the big east bro...you can afford to lose a bunch of games because the conference is so superior". I couldn't disagree more. A comparison to SEC's football domination is just not accurate. The tank jobs teams like Syracuse (ranked as high as #3), Uconn (ranked as high as #7), Georgetown (ranked as high as #9) and especially Villanova (ranked as high as #7) have had this year prove that this conference is somewhat of a fraud. If the season was only one week long then yes the big east and its "5 or 6 top 10 teams" would be deserving of the hummers that ESPN analysts have been giving them all year long and probably 11 teams in the dance....but the reality is over half these over hyped squads have been nothing short of inconsistent and unpredictable. Nova, its 9 conference loses, and its active 5 game losing streak should be watching the tourney on their 50 inch Samsung's some rich booster gave them earlier this year. For the rest of these once "top 10" big east teams that now have 9, 10, or 11 loses, thank ESPN for the good seeds you are about to receive.
